Who is Dave Jones?

When I opened the menu I was met with the words stimulate, rejuvenate, inspire and indulge. That sounded promising. It's also when Dave Jones entered my life.

Under Indulge, the first dessert listed spoke to me: What's It Called Dave Jones? I was intrigued and didn't even look at the rest of the desserts.

The waitress came and we ordered. A few moments later, the bread platter arrived with a carafe of 2005 Merlot, followed by a scrumptious lunch. So when the large white rectangular plate with my dessert was finally placed before me, my eyes took in what was surely pure decadence. Thick. Dense. Velvety. Chocolate. The full description is "layers of butternut-cream, hazelnut praline and chocolate fondant".

Was it decadent? Hell yeah!

Curiosity got the better of me, and I googled Mr. Dave Jones. Turns out Davy Jones was the captain of the ghost ship The Flying Dutchman. And apparently Davy Jones Locker is a euphemism for death at sea. Ah so. I get it. What's It Called Dave Jones is death by chocolate by another name! And I lived to tell about it.
